Project overview
Construction of the La Verota–Kempis Highway, section La Verota–Local 004, sub-section 1 (Prog. 1+670 – 11+000), begun in August 2008 in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure. This communication route prevents travelers going from the west to the east of the country from entering Caracas, connecting Charallave to La Verota and linking through a 36-kilometer stretch to the Kempis Distributor to merge with the eastbound highway. The first section runs from La Verota to Santa Lucía, and the Santa Lucía–Kempis section involves significant engineering works, including additional bridges due to the geological conditions of the terrain. The route is estimated to divert 15–20% of heavy cargo from west to east away from the capital, improving traffic flow on the expressways.
The Challenge
Build a major highway across terrain with demanding geological conditions, requiring additional bridges and significant engineering works, with the goal of relieving heavy west–east traffic without routing it through Caracas.
Vialpa Scope
Construction of the La Verota–Local 004 section, sub-section 1 (Prog. 1+670 – 11+000), including earthworks, drainage works, structures and additional bridges in accordance with the geological conditions of the terrain.

Engineering planning adapted to the terrain's geology, with emphasis on the construction of structures and bridges ensuring corridor stability and safe connectivity between Charallave, La Verota and the Kempis Distributor.
